The 12' Dinghy was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 1928 Summer Olympics program in Amsterdam. Seven races were scheduled. 32 sailors, on 12 boats, from 20 nations competed.

Assignment of dinghies sails

The Royal Dutch Yachting Union (Koninklijk Verbond Nederlandsche Watersport Vereenigingen) made a total of 12 dinhgies available. For each competitor a sail with a unique number was available.
The dinghies sails were assigned as follows:

Conditions at the Buiten Y

The map gives an idea of the courses used for the 12' Dinghy during the 1928 Olympic sailing event. When the sailors from the 1928 Summer Olympics could return to their venue they would hardly recognize it.
