The 12' Dinghy was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 1928 Summer Olympics program in Amsterdam. Seven races were scheduled. 32 sailors, on 12 boats, from 20 nations competed.

The Royal Dutch Yachting Union (Koninklijk Verbond Nederlandsche Watersport Vereenigingen) made a total of 12 dinhgies available. For each competitor a sail with a unique number was available.
